Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut openly supported the anti-conversion ordinance brought in by the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh.

She said that the law will help in preventing fraudulent marriages.

She also appreciated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Chouhan's government for bringing in the law, where forced conversions of minors, women and members of SC/STs, can lead to prison terms for as long as 10 years.

The anti-conversion ordinance is also dubbed as 'anti-love-jihad' law.

'Love jihad' is a right-wing phrase used to describe relationships between Muslim men and non-Muslim women, in a bid to increase Muslim population.

Kangana has openly criticising Islamic fundamentalism on several occasions and acknowledged 'love jihad' as a real phenomenon.

Her upcoming spy/thriller film 'Dhaakad' will be shot in Madhya Pradesh.
