Unlock Phase: Reboot For Schools, Cinema Halls

NEW DELHI: The new phase of nationwide unlocking during the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown will see the opening of religious institutions, movie theatres, and classrooms. 

Public places were shut for close to seven months after a national lockdown was first imposed as the coronavirus pandemic swept globally.

The highly contagious virus can spread easily in closed spaces such as cinema halls, crowds typical at religious festivals, and potentially unchecked in children.

Union health minister Harsh Vardhan highlighted that citizens should not let their guard down and take care of themselves. 

About the opening of cinemas, Kunal Sawhney, senior vice president of operations, Carnival Cinemas, said that they have picked films like 'Simmba', 'Chhichhore', 'Malang', 'Thappad', 'Section 375,' etc. 

PVR, M2K, Movie Time, Cinemapolis, Inox, Unity, Pacific, assured the ruling parties that full precautions will be taken like masks, social distancing, etc. Theatres will reopen with 50% occupancy.

Delhi and Maharashtra, have decided not to reopen schools for now.
