MUMBAI: Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with drugs-related allegations in the Sushant Singh Rajput's death and related investigation.
She has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days and is denied bail. The NCB claimed that she is an active member of the drug syndicate connected with drug supplies.
Mutha Ashok Jain, a senior official of the Narcotics Control Bureau, said that no drugs have been found on her but they have evidence to prove their case.
According to the documents, she "procured drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput and used to manage finance for drug procurement."
Late Bollywood actor Rajput's employees Samuel Miranda and Sawant were arrested and they used to get drugs.
Her father claimed that this is a witch hunt and demanded justice for his daughter.
The 28-year-old has been named as an accused in the CBI investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput's death on June 14.
An FIR has been filed against Chakraborthy by Rajput's father citing aiding and abetting in suicide. NCB, CBI, and ED are investigating her.
Chakraborthy also filed FIR against Rajout's sisters for aiding and abetting in his suicide.
The Bollywood fraternity came together to condemn the media trial, witch hunt, and arrest of Chakraborthy.
The T-shirt- she was wearing which said 'Smash Patriarchy' became viral and Bollywood people started repeating the same message.
