MUMBAI: Veteran Bollywood actress Simi Garewal tweeted a positive review of 'Thalaivii' starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role as late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

Taking to Twitter, 'Karz' actress said that while she disagrees with Ranaut's 'radical comments' she will support her talents.

Helmed by Vijay, the film covers the journey of Jayalalithaa from a young actor to a political veteran in Tamil Nadu. The film is written by KV Vijayendra Prasad who is known for films such as 'Magadheera' and 'Baahubali' series.

Simi had interviewed CM Jayalalithaa in 1999 for her chat show 'Rendezvous with Simi Garewal.' Jayalalithaa had mentioned that she would like actress Aiswarya Rai to play her in a biopic about her life.

In the Tamil film 'Iruvar,' Aiswarya Rai had played a character whose life story is similar to Jayalalithaa.

'Thalaivii' has been released in theatres and has been sold for the digital release as well.

Apart from 'Thalaivii', Kangana will be seen in spy-thriller 'Dhaakad,' war film 'Tejas' and a period film of the Queen of Bhissa.

Kangana has been a controversial figure lately with her radical comments supporting the Narendra Modi led BJP government, criticisms about her Bollywood colleagues, and other issues.
