Street Side Clothes Vendor Of Kerala Wins Million Hearts For His Compassion Towards Needy

KOCHI: Kerala is witnessing not only the dreadful scenes of flood but has ceaseless love, humanity and unity coming from every corner of the society.

On Eid, it was a street side clothes vendor Noushad has amused keralites by giving almost all the new apparels in his shop to the people who are living in relief camps after losing everything in floods and landslides.

The volunteers who approached Noushad for some help to the distressed people in the north Kerala, still remembers, the vendor who did not think twice to give all the newly arrived clothes which was kept in the godown for Eid special sale.

Noushad himself stuffed more than half of his stock of clothes in many big sacks and took them on his head to the parked vehicles, heading to relief camps in Kozhikode and Wayanad by collecting materials from Kochi.

It was when the majority of people opted to give their used clothes to the people in relief camps and only a little portion of their savings to flood relief, the street side vendor who makes his livelihood with this small clothing shop donated the lion's share of his business just to bring a smile on the faces of people who lost everything, on the Eid day.

Rajesh Sharma, a film and theatre artist who was among the volunteer squad took the video of Noushad who was busy packing clothes in 10 big sacks, and shared it on Facebook.

The social media just got surprised with his activity and the video has shared million times. People set him as a real example of compassion and brotherhood and even compared to God for his generosity towards the needy.

In the video it was seen the volunteers giving caution to him that if he is giving all of the stocks in the shop, he could not run an Eid special sale.

Noushad was seen replying, his profit is for the needy, and this is his way to celebrate Eid.

Later on a media interaction, Noushad said this was the best Eid experience in his life and he also said his activity would definitely urge other people to do some help for the flood victims.

Celebrities and Ministers including health minister K K Shylaja were seen using Noushad’s video and pictures to share Eid wishes to the people.
