NEW DELHI: The total tally of COVID-19 rose to 23,96,637 after reporting the highest single-day spike in 24 hours with 66,999 cases recorded in a day.
There are active 6,53,622 cases of COVID-19, 16,95,982 people have recovered and 47,033 people died.
The union health ministry recorded that India has reported 942 deaths in 24 hours.
Union Minister Shripad Naik has tested positive for COVID-19 and has opted for home isolation. He heads the Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) Ministry.
