NEW DELHI: India has recorded over 55,078 cases in 24 hours, registering the biggest single-day spike so far, pushing the total number of cases to 16,38,870.
India also recorded the fifth-highest number of deaths after reporting 779 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the number of fatalities in India to 35,747.
WHO data revealed that the United States (1,48,640 fatalities), Brazil (88,539 fatalities), the United Kingdom (45,961 fatalities), and Mexico (44,876 fatalities).
There are 5,45,318 active cases, 10,57,805 people have recovered and 35,747 people died.
