Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati said that the economic measures that the Finance Ministry has taken to revive the lacklustre economy were not enough.
She tweeted in reference to the demand made by BSP on August 18 and said that the steps introduced by the government on Friday to save crores of people from poverty, unemployment, inflation are good but not enough. In a tweet, she reminded that the Centre has a lot to do in this regard.
“There is a need to take measures to provide them prompt relief and jobs," she added
"For the crores of working people suffering from severe poverty, unemployment, inflation, retrenchment,” she said.
Mayawati had reached out to the government over the slowdown in economy on August 17. She had said that the threat of an 'economic recession' is looming over the country. She had tweeted that the trader community is dejected and worried. They are forced to commit suicide after job cuts.
The BSP Chief’s statement comes at a time when many industries including automobile sector.
