National Education Policy Made For 21st Century Youth: PM Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the New Education Policy (NEP) was designed after keeping the aspirations of the 21st-century youth in mind.

He said that India's National Education Policy is about the spirit, which reflects that we are shifting from the burden of the school bag to the importance of learning, while addressing students participating in the Smart India Hackathon 2020.

NEP will boost access to education starting from primary education and in higher education, the aim is to increase Gross Enrolment Ratio to 50% by 2035.

NEP 2020 include major reformations such as universalisation of Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE), national mission to focus on basic literacy and numeracy, no strong separation between arts and sciences streams.

PM Modi said that with NEP, the focus is shifted from job seekers to job creators.
