Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Union Budget 2021-22, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman earlier in February, saying that India, as a nation, wants to progress quickly.
He said this during the sixth meeting of the governing council of the NITI Aayog virtually.
He said that the budget has been provided for infrastructure and will help the economy of India by creating more employment opportunities.
Prime Minister Modi praised the collaborative efforts of India's states and Centre in combating the COVID-19 outbreak, repercussions and vaccine drive.
"Exports from the blue economy have unlimited opportunities. Why shouldn't our coastal states take extra initiatives for the same?" he said about the importance of policy framework and cooperation between the Centre and states and how coastal states are fine examples.
