PM Modi Thanks Educators On Teacher's Day

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings and appreciation to Indian educators on the occasion of Teacher's day. 

He paid his respects to former President Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed annually as Teachers’ Day in the country since 1962. 

PM Modi lauded the teachers for making sure that the education of the youngsters continued even during the pandemic. 

Dr. S Radhakrishnan, who was the first vice president and the second president of India, was born on September 5th, 1888.

Along with CV Raman and C Rajgopalachari, he was among the first three recipients of the nation's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna.
