NEW DELHI: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi spoke on behalf of Muslim girls in Karnataka, by saying that it is a woman's right to wear what she wants.
Congress general secretary said adding that a woman can choose to wear a bikini, a ghoonghat, a pair of jeans or a hijab, which is a guarantee provided by the Indian constitution.
Congress batted for Muslim women's rights whereas the BJP cited the uniform's necessity while justifying the ban.

Couple of educational institutions in Karnataka banned hijabs and barred hijab wearing girls from entering the campus.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai appealed for calm after announcing all high schools in the state would be closed for three days.
Several places saw young men with saffron scarves as counter protest.
