The Supreme Court verdict on the decades-long Ayodhya land dispute case led to reactions from various quarters including from the great-grandson of the father of the nation.
Mahatma Gandhi's great-grandson Tushar Gandhi said that if Nathuram Godse was alive today then he will be praised as a patriot along with the murder tag.
That is how Gandhi viewed the supreme court verdict which gave the disputed land to Hindus and five-acre plot to Muslims.
If the Gandhi Murder case was retried by the Supreme Court today, the verdict would have been Nathuram Godse is a Murderer but he is also a Desh Bhakt.— Tushar (@TusharG) November 9, 2019
Supreme Court paved the way for the construction of Ram temple while giving away five acres of land to the Sunni Board. Though Tushar Gandhi reacted similarly, The Congress party said that they are favour of Ram temple construction and expressed verdict that will prevent further politicisation of Ayodhya issue by the BJP.
Hindu Mahasabhasaw the verdict as supreme court's concurrence with the unity of diversity.
