Centre Launches National Helpline For Cyber Fraud Reporting

NEW DELHI: Union government launched a national helpline number 155260 and a reporting platform to help citizens prevent financial loss due to cyber fraud.

Under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the helpline 155260 and its reporting platform has been made operational by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), to provide a safe and secure digital payments system.

Helpline was launched with cooperation from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all major banks, Payment Banks, Wallets and Online Merchants.

MHA said in a statement that Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System, along with 155260, is being utilised by seven States and Union Territories (Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh).
