NEW DELHI: A Delhi based teen developed an app for people suffering from autism spectrum disorder that will help them interact and communicate easily.
Shruti Kakar, the 17-year-old studying in Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan, developed “We Can Express”, a mobile-based application that also helps one manage their daily schedule using unique images and icons.
She said that she came up with the idea while volunteering for the inclusive education centre at her school where she saw specially-abled people finding it difficult to communicate.
The app specifically helps those with Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) which is also among the most common behavioural disorders in youngsters.
She researched what people with ASD like, for example, what colours and images they are comfortable with before working on the app, etc.
