Indian physicist Prof Rohini Godbole has been awarded the ‘Ordre National du Metrite’ National Order of Merit by the government of France for her work with governments and commitment to promoting the enrolment of women in science.
Prof. Godbole teaches at the Centre for High Energy Physics at Indian Institute of Science(IISC), Bangalore.
She had been advocating for the inclusion of more women in the field of science and had pointed out how women are still less in number when it comes to research in science and Ph.D. courses.
She has written over 100 research papers and is known for her work at European Organisation for Nuclear Research, CERN.
