The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) explained that Earth's natural satellite moon plays an important role in protecting the Earth and is more "best friend forever."

NASA explained that the Moon shields the Earth’s atmosphere from the unpredictability of space and powerful solar storms with its magnetic field as many as four billion years ago.

Jim Green, NASA’s chief scientist and lead author of the new study, added that the Moon's substantial protective barrier against the solar wind is behind Earth's ability to maintain its atmosphere.
