The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court fixed November 2 as the next date of hearing for the Hathras gang rape in which a 19-year-old woman was raped by four upper-caste men in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras.

Family members of the victim appeared before the court. They were heard by the Bench of Justices Pankaj Mithal and Rajan Roy on Monday. The UP Additional Chief Secretary, DGP, the ADG (Law and Order), the Hathras DM, and SP were also present in court.

The woman died in a Delhi hospital two weeks after the alleged attack.

The DM said that the decision to cremate the body at night was taken due to law and order considerations. He said there was no pressure from the state authorities. The state authorities were represented by additional advocate general VK Shahi.
