NEW DELHI: The Centre and the farmers unable to get on the same page in the seventh round of discussions regarding the controversial three new farm laws.
The central government had proposed to discuss the farmers' demand for a legal guarantee to support the price of crops.
Farmers, on the other hand, want the laws to be repealed.
Sarwan Singh Pandher of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee said that Agriculture minister Narendra Tomar cleared that laws will not be repealed.
Tomar suggested that they go to the supreme court if they want the laws to be repealed.
Minister Tomar said the laws will be discussed point-by-point with representatives of farmers' organisations from other states.
The Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and his junior Minister Som Prakash also had a separate discussion with the farmers.
