Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar provided financial support to as many as 4000 underprivileged people who are affected by the Coronavirus pandemic, including children from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) of Mumbai.

He donated an amount to Mumbai's non-profit organisation Hi5 Youth Foundation which will help BMC children go to school and help daily wage workers.

As part of his fight against the COVID outbreak and lockdown, Tendulkar donated Rs 25 lakh each to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES Fund) and Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Maharashtra).

COVID outbreak has killed over 1,900 people and left many homeless and jobless due to the lockdown.
