Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami gets support from both current and former players after he faced a severe degree of social media trolling.
India was defeated by Pakistan in the current T20 WorldCup by 10 wickets.
Shami's handle was filled with hate comments and Islamophobia, where the majority of them suggested that he 'go to Pakistan.'
Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan issued a strong statement in support of Shami.
Even I was part of #IndvsPak battles on the field where we have lost but never been told to go to Pakistan! I’m talking about 🇮🇳 of few years back. THIS CRAP NEEDS TO STOP. #Shami

Former India cricketer Virender Sehwag has come out in the fast bowler's support.
“The online attack on Mohammad Shami is shocking and we stand by him. He is a champion and anyone who wears the India cap has India in their hearts far more than any online mob,” he tweeted. Sachin Tendulkar also wrote in support of Shami.
When we support #TeamIndia, we support every person who represents Team India. @MdShami11 is a committed, world-class bowler. He had an off day like any other sportsperson can have.
