NEW DELHI: International Cricket Council has announced the postponement of the 50-over ICC Women's World Cup from 2021 to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said that the postponement of the Women's Cricket World Cup will give players from every competing nation the best opportunity to be ready for the world’s biggest stage and there is still a global qualifier to complete.

Mithali Raj reacted to the news saying that she still remains optimistic about the games.

Fans were concerned about the postponement because Raj will turn 39 and some of the senior players including Jhulan Goswami won't be involved in the games.
