NEW DELHI: India has recorded yet another high single day after reporting over 1,52,879 cases of COVID-19 in 24 hours.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a message on Twitter to announce the vaccination festival (or Tika Utsav), which aims to inoculate a maximum number of eligible people against the novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Along with this, the PM made four requests; Each One- Vaccinate One, Each One- Treat One, Each One- Save One, and the creation of micro-containment zones.

  1. Each One-Vaccinate One: helping those who cannot get themselves vaccinated, like elderly people or less aware people.
  2. Each One-Treat One: helping those who do not have the means to, or do not know about the facilities available.
  3. Each One-Save One: is about the importance of wearing masks to save people from infection.
  4. PM's fourth request is about micro-containment zones; wherever a COVID-19 positive case has been reported, people of that family and locality must create a micro-containment.

Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare wrote to the states to make arrangements for the inoculation facility at both private and government offices with an availability of at least 100 beneficiaries.

They should;

  1. Workplace vaccination centres should be registered in the CoWin portal as government or private Covid Vaccination Centre (CVC).
  2. Employees of that particular office aged 45 years or more will be eligible for vaccination.
  3. Outsiders including eligible family members will not be allowed for vaccination at ‘CVC at Workplace’.
  4. CVC in a government-run or private work will be tagged to an existing and nearest CVC in the government medical facility.
  5. Management will be responsible for arranging adequate rooms/space for vaccine inoculation.
  6. A fully trained vaccination team will be assigned to vaccinate 100 beneficiaries.
