Indian pugilist Nikhat Zareen said that her father did not approve of her decision to become a boxer and often discouraged her.
He used to say that the sport is meant for men and not women, but his sexism pushed her to do better in the sport.
She said that it is not the gender but desire and persistence that matters in terms of achieving.
“I want to inspire women to become drivers of change for one another with their inspiring & rebellious optimism,” she said.
She launched a campaign 'Watch Us Move,' squash ace Dipika Pallikal and former Miss World Manushi Chillar.
"It is a rallying call for all women to be the drivers of change for one another," said Pallikal.
