NEW DELHI: The Election Commission has asked the Health Ministry to remove Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photo from coronavirus vaccine certificates.
This move from EC came weeks before assembly elections in four states and one union territory.
The Trinamool Congress earlier this week had alleged "blatant misuse of official machinery, complaining to the Election Commission.
The government has been told to adopt a system so that PM Modi's photo does not appear on COVID-19 vaccine certificates, especially in poll-bound states.
Trinamool Congress leader Derek O'Brien wrote that the PM is exploiting his power but he is also stealing commendable credit from the producers of the vaccine.
