Actress Shraddha Srinath took a dig at Indian industry's patriarchal treatment of actresses with her sarcastic message about Varun Dhawan's marriage.

She wrote that since Dhawan got married, the industry lost another good actor who will probably give up acting after marriage because his wife and in-laws won't permit it.

"Maybe he will switch to doing male-oriented films? But how to balance personal life and work-life," she wrote, referring to his "shelf-life", a tag that determines women's presence in the industry.

Actresses lose opportunities when they cross 35 years of age, which is social shelf-life given to them, or after they get married unless they give hit films.

Added to that, after Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra got married, several pundits mentioned how they will "balance" their lives and all.
