BENGALURU: Food delivery app Zomato has increased the remuneration of its delivery staffs in the wake of increased petrol prices.
Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal said that the company’s delivery partners travel 100-200 km each day and therefore increased their monthly income accordingly.
Petrol and diesel prices continue to increase at record levels in the national capital.
Goyal added that the increase in remuneration will also include distance pay, and will be applicable over and above the existing salary.
Added to that, Zomato raised $250 million (around Rs 1,800 crore) in new funding from different investors.
