327 women billionaires are taking the position in this year's Forbes list. All these ultra-rich women are worth a collective 1.56 trillion dollars, which jumped from 1.53 trillion dollars last year. 101 women in this year’s list are self-made, founded or co-founded a company or establishment and 226 are heirs. Barbados' first millionaire Rihanna, the 35-year-old co-founder of design startup Canva Melanie Perkins, and Melinda French Gates became a billionaire on their own following her divorce from Bill Gates, are the prominent new faces on the Forbes list. 90 women billionaires, the highest number, are coming from the US, followed by China with 63 and 35 of them from Germany.

Francoise Bettencourt Meyers is a French businesswoman and granddaughter of  Eugene Schuler, the founder of L’Oreal and appeared on the list in 2018. Alice Walton is an American heiress and daughter of Sam Walton, founder of Walmart. Julia Koch is an American Philanthropist and inherited a 42 per cent stake in Koch Industries, the second-largest private company in the US.  Mackenzie Scott is a popular philanthropist and divorced Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in 2019. With assets of 43.6 billion dollars, she has donated 12.5 billion dollars to various organisations.
