Former US President Barack Obama has come out with his latest book 'A Promised Land'. The book is about his journey from the 2008 election campaign to the end of his first term. 'A Promised Land' has two volumes and the first volume is released worldwide today.
Obama has taken a few pages to talk about the market-based economy in the 1990s unleashed by the Indian entrepreneurs. The former US president credited them with soaring growth rates, a thriving technology sector, and a steadily expanding middle class.
He also said that modern India can be counted as a success in many respects even though the bitter feuds within political parties and various armed separatist movements and corruption scandals still exist.
The book also talks about his presidency's Abbottabad (Pakistan) raid that killed al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
