NEW DELHI: The Ministry of External Affairs said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the United States president-elect Joe Biden will speak in due course at a mutually convenient time.
The Ministry asserted that India-US ties enjoy bipartisan support in America under the Trump administration currently.
MEA Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said the prime minister had congratulated US president-elect Biden and further appreciated his efforts and contribution to strengthening India-US relations.
Modi had also conveyed that he looks forward to working with him to take India-US relations to greater heights.
Srivastava said the foundation of India-US relations is very strong.
A comprehensive global strategic partnership between the two countries has bipartisan support in the US.
This year's US elections saw a record number of people coming forward to vote despite the pandemic.
Biden-Harris campaign defeated Trump with over 290 electoral votes and even defeated him in republican states such as Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.
As of now today, Trump refuses to concede and is trying both legal and hearsay methods to declare victory.
