WASHINGTON, US: Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez delivered a powerful speech at the Congress condemning sexism directed at women politicians, especially by Republicans.
She called out Representative Ted Yoho for calling her "a f--ing bitch" in front of the reporters.
Ocasio-Cortez and more than a dozen colleagues cast the incident as an example of sexist behaviour by men, including President Donald Trump.
She added that there is a larger culture that supports this kind of behaviour by male politicians where violence and violent language against women are common and normalised.
Trump had earlier called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "crazy." He was also caught on tape boasting about how he likes to sexually abuse women where he said, "grab her by the pussy."
